This course is designed to train complete novices to the qualifying standards of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulation (Revised) 1981 and the Approved Code of Practice and Guidance 1997 requirements.

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires all employers to provide adequate first aid cover for all their employees.

Participants attending first aid courses must by law be externally verified by independent external assessors to ensure minimum levels of competency as required by HSE.

Initial training must be completed within a specified time limits to qualify as approved first aiders, successful candidates will receive a first aid certificate valid for a period not exceeding three years.

This course is designed to retrain first aid operatives as required by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Revised) 1981 and the Approved Code of Practice and Guidance 1997 requirements.

The course is for existing first aiders only. Lapsed first aid certificate holders will have to re-sit a full four day course.

All participants will be examined by independent assessors after completing this two day refresher course. Successful candidates will receive a first aid certificate valid for a period not exceeding three years.

By law all first aid operatives must hold an appropriate first aid training certificate.

The Health, Safety and Welfare Regulations 1992 and the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, require that every "reasonable practicable" step is taken to ensure your safety when handling loads.

The course is designed to identify the most common hazards that lead to injury (sometimes permanent) and how to avoid injury.

The course looks at alternative ways of lifting safety procedures and provides training in manual handling.

The fire fighting course meets the requirements of The Health and Safety at work act 1974, Management of Health and Safety at Work Act 1992 and the Home Office/ Scottish Office Code of Practice.

The requirements for "adequate information, instruction" is theme in modern safety legislation. Everyone has a duty to care under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

You must therefore have the right fire fighting arrangements in place.

This fire fighting course gives "hands on" experience fighting different types of fires and deals with the theory of fire.

This course covers all the basic elements of health and safety in the work place and is intended to raise participants awareness and effectiveness in creating a safer environment.

These courses are certified by the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health and The Chartered Institute of Health and Safety.
