These courses have been specifically designed
to meet the requirements for goods vehicle
operators. Everyone involved in road transport
and operates vehicles for hire and reward
must demonstrate evidence of professional
competence, in compliance with the Goods
Vehicle (Licensing of Operators) act 1995.
These regulations implement European Union
Directive 74/561, Article 3.
To comply with these regulations all persons
wishing to engage as road haulage operators
must demonstrate the following: -
- You are of good repute.
- You have appropriate financial
standing.
- You are professionally competent.
The requirements of (EU) Directive 74/561
applies to road freight national and international
operations.
To demonstrate professional competence
candidates must sit formal examinations,
and in addition successfully complete case
studies as part of the examination process.
A successful outcome will entitle the candidate
to apply for an operators license.
